What is LATTE?

Dear Teens, Parents, Guardians,

Welcome to LATTE Theater, a unique theatrical opportunity.  LATTE ,the La Grange Area Teen Theater Ensemble, has served the La Grange area community for 6 years!

LATTE is incorporated in Illinois as a nonprofit organization.  Our focus is to educate teenagers in both the theatrical arts and the business of operating a community theater in the La Grange Area. “Theater for teens, by teens, with teens” is provided with a focus in teaching life skills, leadership development and empowerment. The skills follow throughout your life – on and off the stage – and the unforgettable memories and laughter will stay with you always…

Teen members can learn: directing, assistant directing, stage management, script writing, choreography, set design, prop master, warm-ups, internal communication or external communication, programs, community advertising, shout-outs, and even organizing the post cast party. The possibilities are endless and opportunities exist in a different area not proposed if you wish to explore another facet of theater.  Past posters were created and designed by teens.  The new website will be maintained in tandem by teens. Whatever the opportunity, the focus is on education and empowerment.

A teen board works in conjunction with an adult board – each interested teen board member paired with a mentor in a specific area with certain responsibilities. There is a junior and senior teen board as well. If your teen is interested, please email us at lattetheater@gmail.com.

We continue to have workshops for the aspiring actor, writer, and director that focus on improvisation, physicality, projection, enunciation, stage chemistry, relationship development and theater games.
